About Data Protection

Abaconn d.o.o. is committed to keeping your personal information confidential. We do not sell, rent, or lease your data to third parties, nor do we provide it to any third party, individual, government agency, or company without a lawful basis.

Within this Privacy Policy, we inform you how we protect personal data and outline your rights in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016, concerning the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.

Abaconn d.o.o. respects the core GDPR principles. We do not collect more personal data than necessary, and we always process it lawfully, fairly, and transparently. We have appropriate security measures to safeguard personal data from unauthorized access or accidental leakage. We store data in a form that permits identification only as long as necessary for its specific purpose. If certain data becomes inaccurate, we will correct or delete it.

Abaconn’s Role

Abaconn d.o.o. is headquartered in Zaprešić, Croatia. Depending on the situation and purpose of processing personal data, Abaconn d.o.o. may act as a data controller and/or data processor.

For any queries regarding data protection or exercising your rights, please contact us at:

Regardless of our internal arrangements, you may always contact Abaconn d.o.o. for any inquiries related to your personal data.

Collecting, Using, Storing, and Sharing Your Personal Data

Generally, we process your personal data based on one of these four legal grounds:

  1. Consent – For instance, when you agree that we may contact you if a relevant business or employment opportunity arises.
  2. Contractual Relationship – When processing your data is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations.
  3. Legal Obligation – For example, complying with tax or accounting legislation, or responding to a legitimate request from a competent authority.
  4. Legitimate Interest – For example, contacting clients to offer follow-up projects or services.

We do not retain your data longer than necessary; all retention periods are specified per category below.

1. Handling Inquiries and Managing Client Relationships

When you contact Abaconn d.o.o. via email or a web form for new business, sponsorship, media inquiries, events, or other requests, we determine the nature of the inquiry and process any personal data as described in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. We may do so based on our legitimate interest, a contractual obligation, or a legal obligation.

We keep your data as long as needed to address your inquiry, during the (pre)contractual relationship, or for the period required by law. We may also retain your contact information for legitimate interests, such as following up with additional offers or feedback requests.

2. Promoting and Marketing Our Services

If you provide your email address to receive our newsletter or other specific content, we will use it only for that stated purpose. You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in the newsletter or by emailing privacy@abaconn.eu.

If you no longer wish to receive marketing materials, you may opt out at any time. Even after you opt out, we may retain your data for up to five years to address any potential disputes or issues.

3. Improving Our Services Through Surveys and Insights

We may contact you to gather feedback on your experience with our website, products, or services, based on our legitimate interest in improving quality. We may also analyze your activity on our website to enhance user experience or overall service quality.

Abaconn d.o.o. uses third-party services like Google Analytics (provided by Google Ireland Limited) to collect information such as visitor numbers and user behavior patterns. Cookies from these services may be stored on your device. However, we enable IP anonymization to reduce privacy risks, and we adjust settings so that Google does not process data for its own advertising or linking purposes.

4. Recruiting Staff

When you submit personal data for employment purposes, it will be used only for the job opening you are applying for, or the first relevant vacancy if you applied generally. We retain your data only during the recruitment process unless you explicitly allow us to keep it for up to five years to contact you if other opportunities arise. You can withdraw this consent at any time by emailing privacy@abaconn.eu.

If we host recruitment events, we may collect certain information (e.g., name, email, phone, education, CV) to assess your suitability. We use your data only for the duration of the event; however, we may keep basic contact information on the basis of our legitimate interest, or longer if you consent to be considered for future roles.

5. Processing Based on Legitimate Interests

When you contact us for business or employment opportunities, Abaconn d.o.o. or a third party may have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data in a fair and balanced way that does not unduly affect your rights (e.g., sharing data with advisors, contractors, or auditors, or for anti-fraud measures, research and development, accounting, or network security).

You have the right to object to data processing for direct marketing purposes based on legitimate interest. Simply email us at privacy@abaconn.eu.

Where We Store Your Data and Who We Share It With

Internally, your personal data is disclosed only to employees and associates who need access for specific tasks. On some occasions, we may share personal data with third parties (e.g., service providers, payment processors, hosting and maintenance providers) to deliver our services at the highest level. Any recipients of this data have been vetted to ensure GDPR compliance and confidentiality.

We may also be legally required to disclose data as part of legal processes or law enforcement. In addition, corporate events such as mergers, acquisitions, or bankruptcies may necessitate sharing personal data with relevant parties (e.g., lawyers, regulatory bodies, potential buyers).

Where applicable, we ensure that international data transfers outside the EU comply with GDPR, using mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses or other recognized safeguards.

Data Transfers to Third Countries

Whenever possible, Abaconn d.o.o. processes data within the EU. Some of our service providers, however, may be located outside the EU or may transfer data to affiliates outside the EU. In these scenarios, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, and confirm that adequate supplementary measures are taken.

For more details on data transfers outside the EU, please contact privacy@abaconn.eu.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  1. Access (Article 15) – Ask if we are processing your personal data, which data, where, why, and for how long.
  2. Rectification (Article 16) – Request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete data.
  3. Erasure (Article 17) – Request deletion of data that is no longer necessary or processed without a valid legal basis.
  4. Restriction of Processing (Article 18) – Ask us to limit processing in certain circumstances.
  5. Information (Article 19) – Obtain details of Abaconn d.o.o.’s identity, contact data, processing purposes, and legal basis, along with information about recipients, transfers to third countries, and storage periods.
  6. Data Portability (Article 20) – Receive your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format if processing is based on consent or contract and is carried out by automated means.
  7. Object (Article 21) – Object to processing based on legitimate interests, particularly for direct marketing.
  8. Not Be Subject to Automated Decisions (Article 22) – We do not make decisions about your rights solely by automated processing.

If processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact: privacy@abaconn.eu.

Information Security

We take data security seriously and implement various physical, technical, and administrative measures to safeguard data:

  • Regularly updating and testing our systems.
  • Working with service providers that comply with GDPR.
  • Restricting access to personal data to authorized employees.
  • Training staff on GDPR and enforcing privacy responsibilities.
